Na'im Azhar
Director of Tennis

The sport of tennis was introduced to me at 14, and could be considered the most important decision in my life to date. Tennis has brought passion, success and growth both on and off the court since our introduction. My father introduced me to the game not only for my development as an athlete, but my development as an individual. After attending the Adams Tennis Academy in Pembroke Pines, FL in a short space of time life had opened so many doors for me. I was #592 in the Junior ITF world rankings and had travelled to countries I could not even pronounce! A huge accomplishment for me was securing a collegiate scholarship to NAIA's Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. Most importantly recently graduating from Cumberland University with my degree in Exercise Science was an incredible moment. Additionally representing my country on two separate occasions in Davis Cup competition at #1 singles allowed me to experience moments I could have only dreamed of. Now an avid coach I have spent three years developing juniors and the programs at Bluegrass Country Club. Recently I spent the season training and assistant coaching Division 1 collegiate team TSU whilst spending some time working with the USTA implementing programs into primary schools and middle schools within the greater Nashville area.

I arrived at Sugar Mill in January of 2015. In the fall of that year with a couple of steady clientele that were tournament players I saw the potential to initiate programming for the High Performance/ Performance player.   I started with 2 Players both of whom were Top 30 state Juniors.

Fast forward to Fall 2016, with a lot of hard work and perseverance we have been blessed to build the Academy to over 40 Kids.  Our High Performance program since then consists of 5 Top 100 Southern Players of whom are Top 30 State Players, 12+ Current Top 100 state players in their respective age groups. 10+ Top 200 GA Players.

During this time period the academy has also facilitated travelling clients whom have travelled from not only all across Atlanta but out of state as well. With 3 Top 20 TN/Southern level players training with us for much of the year.

Tennis has given me an education, the tools for success, the chance to travel the world and so much more. Tennis can truly change lives, and the possibility of playing a role in another individual's journey through life on and off the court is what motivates me to give 100% each and every day. Whether creating a world class player, or a world class citizen, promoting health or providing the therapeutic edge needed to survive life's tough moments tennis is a lifetime sport that provides countless benefits. It's my pleasure to share those moments with you.

Niriantsa "Niri" Rasolomalala
Assistant Tennis Professional

Ever since I was young, I have enjoyed sports in general. My father is a great athlete; therefore, I was raised through sports. Tennis was introduced to me when I was 9 years old. I have loved this wonderful sport ever since. I have played tennis competitively for about 15 years. I originally come from Madagascar, and I got several opportunities at a young age to represent my country in several places. Two highlights that meant a lot to me was playing at the Youth Olympic that took place in Singapore, and Island games (Jeux des Iles) that took place in La Reunion. Gold medalist for the doubles completion and as a team we won gold as well. These games allowed me to feel the pride that one should have for one’s country.

At the age of 13, I got a scholarship to go to International Tennis Federation (ITF) high performance center located in Pretoria, South Africa. I got the opportunity to train with the top junior players in Africa. I competed in several ITF junior tournaments. My highest ranking was as high as #85 in the Junior ITF world rankings. After graduating high school in Pretoria, South Africa; I got a scholarship opportunity to play college tennis in the U.S. Played #1 singles at Georgia Perimeter College. The team got its highest ranking #3 in the NJCAA. Individual highest ranking was #2 in the NJCAA. Then, I transferred to D1 College to Georgia State University where I got my degree in Political Science focus on International Relations. I was one of the top singles player and played #2 doubles. Sunbelt conference champion 2016 and as a team we got a chance to play in the 2016 NCAA bracket. The feeling of winning conference as a team was amazing. College tennis taught me a lot about team work and time management. It is one of the best experiences that I have had in my life.

During summer and winter breaks while I was still in College; I was a sparring partner and got the feel of how teaching tennis would be like. I got the chance to work at Cliff Drysdale tennis for summer camp 2016 which I enjoyed. Also, I was assisting in different clinics with juniors and adults. My goal is to make a difference in someone’s tennis game by making it fun and energetic environment for people to enjoy the game of tennis whether competitively or recreationally. I feel that Silvia Tennis Academy would be a place for me to grow in my teaching career and personally.

Tennis has given me many opportunities and doors that I did not even know existed. Through hard work and dedication one can improve in areas that one thought was weak. Tennis has taught me a lot about myself, and gave me opportunities to travel the world. I believe that one can play tennis no matter how old or young one is!
